Important notice to all DTS Customers
11−06−2010
Over the last 12 months we have seen an unprecedented rise in the price of gold due to gold being seen as the only safe place for your money in this challenging climate. DTS has always been keen to maintain the 'all inclusive' price of crown and bridge so that you are fully aware of the charges on each case. However, at the end of last year, due to the rise in gold prices, we made an exception for all gold shell crowns to come with a standard price plus the gold per gram. Today gold has continued to rise to over $1200 per ounce, so again we have no option but to act.
From the 1st of July 2010, all precious or semi-precious crown and bridge cases will have a plus gold price which will be calculated for each metal on the 1st of the month and set for the complete month. A new pricelist and new order forms will be supplied next month to account for these major changes. We'll also be changing the precious metals that we currently use to a lower gold content.
These new materials still contain a very high level of precious and semi-precious metal however; they will have a lower fine gold content. We are also offering a new chrome-cobalt non-precious metal for our NHS range or for restorations along with a new semi-precious metal which will still qualify for re-numeration as a semi-precious crown through the NHS. All NHS cases will be manufactured in the new chrome-cobalt material unless otherwise stated in our new order forms.
By using these new materials we hope to maintain our current cost structure. They also all have the same CE, ISO, and NIOM accreditation and markings as our previous materials.

You may also be aware that we have introduced our new Opalite range which is an All-Zirconia crown manufactured primarily by CAD/CAM automation. Using Zirconia and CAD/CAM technology we can create a more cost effective, price stable crown or bridge. The Opalite range is indicated for the posterior zone as it gives unsurpassed strength in this area at a very attractive introductory price of £69 per unit. This price is only available until the end of July when it will go to £79 per unit – still very attractive. We believe this restoration is a real alternative to the non-precious and gold crown and bridge restorations. Later this year we hope to introduce a more aesthetic version for the anterior region so you'll have a cost effective alternative to metal for the entire mouth.
Due to these changes we now have new laboratory order forms available for crown and bridge. These can be downloaded from our website quickly and efficiently to save you time - simply download them today.
