The International Dental Show (IDS) is over for another year and we’ve just about recovered. We wouldn’t have missed it for the world and over 155,000 international trade visitors felt the same.

The new TRIOS 3 wireless option connects via Wi-Fi to laptops and to the TRIOS® cart, which eliminates the need for a connecting cable attached to the scanner wand and your computer.

Now, with Core3dcentres® and Dental Direkt having just joined forces, they have even better support available. Under the motto "close to you", both companies plan to jointly develop pioneering digital solutions close to the customer in future.

As I travel around the country, I meet so many great Dentists who are looking to be successful and do the type of dentistry they enjoy. They ask me questions like “how can I have the type of practice I have in my head” and “what can I do to be more successful?” My answer is almost always the same!

I meet many dentists and their teams who want to make the leap to “go digital” but either don’t know where to start, or are a little lost at what they need to do. In this article, I am not going to talk about the equipment you may want to invest in… I am going to talk about your team – the people that will actually make this successful.

DTS has been delivering implant retained restorations since the early days of implantology in the UK, which is almost 35 years now, and we would like to think we have gained a pretty good knowledge on systems and techniques.

DTS caught up with Dr Jameel Gardee, Partner at The Glasgow Smile Clinic and Digital Smile Design UK Team Member, to chat about digital dentistry within his practice and what he sees for the future of the industry.

I am often asked by Dentists all over the country about how they can take their dentistry to the next level to meet the expectations of ther patients both now and for years to come.  My answer is always the same… continue to invest in your own learning, become better and more highly skilled and learn how to excel relationally with people.

Digital dentistry has become the buzzword of our industry over the last few years and no one truly knows what that means when it comes to the day-to-day running of a dental practice. Most of us are already on our digital journey in our home life and maybe, without us realising, this has moved into our work life too.

It’s a very sad week in the life of our company (DTS and Core3dcentres UK), as today we decommissioned our very first Lava milling machine. Why have so much emotion about a piece of machinery? Well, because it single-handedly changed and transformed the way we worked our dental laboratory, and our thinking has never been the same again.

It used to be so much simpler when a denture was a denture and a crown was a crown. Our laboratory forms were blank sheets of paper with even room to draw a picture. However in the last few years branding has hit dentistry and will continue to drive our industry.
